William Tell XXIV
Archery and Equestrian Tournaments
and First Annual Archery Protector Tournament
August 28-30, 2009

Hearken, ye Archers and Horsemen of An Tir!

The Shire of River’s Bend invites one and all to join us at William Tell, one of the original events put on by the shire. Now in its 24th year, it boasts not only the traditional William Tell archery tournament, but competition in all rankings, along with thrown weapons competition, and our annual equestrian tournament.

This is our first year of seeking Adult and Youth Protectors for our shire.

Defenders' competitors should submit a letter of intent to compete to the seneschal by the opening of the lists on Saturday morning. If mailing in advance, send to:

Shire of River's Bend
P.O. Box 2533
Longview, WA 98632

There will also be contests and activities for children, the 8th Annual Guillermo da Sierra Patace Memorial Bocce Tournament for the ladies, classes, and merchants. We will also be providing our kingdom famous Traveler's Stew, with bread and brownies, for a $3.00 contribution on Friday evening.

Archery will include a novelty shoot, "The (Purple) Beast Who Shall Not Be Named", and York rounds (on Sunday).

Equestrian games are for the walk, trot, and canter categories, with an additional event to determine an overall winner.
